...and our journey

The FreshTies journey began with founder Ashish Poddar, a former city lawyer. He thought there are enough resources to go around so nobody loses out in life– with a little give and take. So he gave up his job to set up FreshTies. With the tiniest amount of grant support (because of its innovative approach), what you see took pretty much his own money, and a little help from his friends, to get FreshTies to where it is now. Tough times, and sacrifice teach you the most, and build solid foundations for good things to happen. Now it’s getting the recognition and results!

Meet the team

Ash

"I had this dream..." Ash, FreshTies founder

We really don't want to go there Ash... Proof that he's a born communicator (i.e. never shuts up), can be seen by the gullible unfortunates he's conned onto the team. All this chat was previously in use whilst he penned employment policy at the Commission for Racial Equality, and as a solicitor with a City law firm.

Darren

"I'm one snappy dresser..." Darren, Web Programmer

Comments have been made about his dress sense. Neat / cool / fashion... these were words that comments have yet to include. Darren was plucked straight out of uni, so nobody else could exploit his prodigious programming skills.

Penny

“I’ll show these blokes who gets things done…” Penny, Development Manager

Penny gets things done and multi tasks, which she claims the rest of the team cannot do! With vast experience of volunteering, recruitment and life coaching, she is tasked with growing FreshTies grassroots services.

And the rest of the team, who played a huge part in our journey.

Doug

"They don't know they're born..." Doug, Head of IT

He's far younger than he looks... he's only 159, you know. Thankfully that brings in a wealth of software and engineering genius from a range of impressive job titles that keeps us on top. He also spreads his know how with the young uns.!

Greg

"You can tell me..." Greg, Web Programmer

Any secrets and gossip is safe with Greg. Tell him, and you can be safe in the knowledge that it will be shared with anyone who'll listen! Just kidding, but we do wonder why he was so keen to apply his computing degree and programming expertise to the fastest way to spread info- the web!

James

"I'm the shy one..." James, Web Programmer

Really? The team hadn't noticed, nor had anyone standing in the terraces whilst he's shouting abuse at the visiting team. We think it's just a line to charm the girls. How successful he's been since uni, he is shy about, but we do know how easily he charms his way around programming code.
